We recently stayed 4 nights at Jenny Wiley State Park..Great Service, always good food at their lunch and dinner Buffets. We hiked several trails around the lake...At night there is a bar and grill in the May Lodge where several local musicians played nightly.. .
Okay the lodge food is freaking delicious and the trail nearby is a mycophile dream! My family and I absolutely loved our stay! The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and cool. We were easily able to fish and swim as much as we wanted
We had an enjoyable visit at May Lodge. My daughter and I had a nice afternoon hiking and spending time at the Lake. The facility and it's surroundings were clean and well maintained. There was plenty of parking and the roads were in great condition.
We came to look at the lodge and then ate in the dining room. Did a little shopping in the gift shop. Kelsey greeted us at the counter and was super friendly even though she was short-staffed. We were so impressed we are thinking about coming back and maybe staying in the hotel or one of the cabins. Beautiful scenery!
I SO enjoy the peace and quiet of Kentucky State parks. The building is old and in need of a tiny bit of maintenance here and there but honestly I would not change a thing. The creaking boards and rustic charm are what makes it great. Enjoyed a wonderful breakfast in the Music Highway Grill watching scampering deer, raccoon, and endless squirrels. The lake was quiet, and beautiful. Will be returning again.
We will be going back. It was the "off season" so the lake was empty (winter pool) and the Dinning room had a lot of down time. The bistro was available and even the "pizza" was surprisingly delicious. The staff was eager and friendly, and we look forward to our next getaway. I will re-evaluate after another stay.
The classic astetic of this place is great the staff is very friendly and the drinks are made quite well. Definitely book activities in advance so you don't miss out. If you are eating here I recommend straying away from the buffet and just order your food. The cabins here are quite lovely as well, surrounded by beautiful scenery.
We like to stay there when we are in Kentucky. We were there for a funeral and was able to get a good room on a very short notice. Good staff. My only con was the bed was too hard for me.
